Impact Soundworks has announced the release of Shreddage X, a follow-up expansion pack to ISWs Shreddage DI electric guitar library for Kontakt, designed for use in rock/metal rhythm riffs. Now, combined with the power of the Shreddage 3 engine and Console FX rack, you can compose and perform using the original, unmatched Shreddage guitar tone with more features and realism than ever. The result is a far more playable instrument that can now perform strums and leads - not just chunky rhythm parts! Using state-of-the-art tools and a pinch of audio magic, we’ve taken the original sample pool and expanded it via meticulous offline pitch-shifting to cover every fret on all six strings. Ive also noticed that there seem to be several instances of 'llbridge. That all changes with Shreddage 3 Legacy. Shreddage II FX.nki seems to load without trouble, but every time I load the previous into Kontakt 5 (stand-alone or bridged into my DAW) - the entire program (DAW included) freezes, and then I have to manually close out the program via task manager. Shreddage 2 is now Shreddage 3 Jupiter Our most popular 7-string electric guitar has the ultimate dark, rich tone for heavy rock and metal music. ![]() However, the original instrument had a somewhat limited sample pool, lacking per-fret sampling and the note range to perform convincing leads. Composers and producers have long enjoyed its aggressive 6-string tone, which features a popular "Standard" guitar. The next evolution of Shreddage 2 SRP is here Features an all-American 7-string electric guitar with superb versatility. These libraries should show an Install button. This instrument set a new standard, showcasing stunning realism for high-gain rock & metal rhythm parts. Shreddage 3 Serpent (VST, AU, AAX) Virtual Guitar Instrument for Kontakt. For first time users, you will also need to go to the Preferences pane in order to set the Download and Content location for your library: In the bottom left of Native Access, click Add Serial and enter your serial number: Open the Kontakt tab and find your library. (If you're looking at Kontakt libraries from either of these developers or anywhere else, before you buy, make sure the one you're looking at doesn't say "Full version of Kontakt required", as that's a pretty significant added expense.Shreddage 3 Legacy is a modern update of the original, groundbreaking Shreddage virtual instrument, first released in 2010. They have a lot of options for different types of guitars, and though I don't have the hands-on experience with these that I do with Shreddage, they sound like quality stuff to me. If you're not necessarily looking for super heavy guitar, I'd consider one of the Kontakt guitar libraries from Orange Tree Samples. Step 3: Go to Service Center and activate the library with the serial number we sent. Kuassa Creme is my preference, but you've got so many options nowadays with VST support that there are probably some cheaper or even free options that would do the trick. Step 2: Open Kontakt, go to Add Library, select the extracted Shreddage 2 folder. You will definitely want a different amp sim, though, as the Softube (and even the original Line6 that the Shreddage refill's combinators were built with) doesn't really cut it in my experience. The refill versions aren't as full-featured as the original Kontakt versions, but they are an absolute steal at that price, considering the quality of the content and how much the full Kontakt versions each sell for. I've used the Shreddage refill a lot, and also gotten a ton of use out of many of their other refills, though YMMV on those depending on what your needs are. Shreddage uses samples that were recorded dry without amping or other effects, so even though it's built for one particular style, I've found it to be quite versatile depending on the amp settings and effects you combine it with.ĭepending on your needs, you might want to buy Shreddage II ($139) for Kontakt Player, or get Impact Soundworks' refill bundle (currently $75) and contains stripped-down versions of many of their libraries, including Shreddage (not Shreddage II). For heavy rhythm guitar, I've gotten a lot of mileage out of Impact Soundworks' Shreddage processed with Kuassa Creme and some of Kuassa's other effects.
